So you’re always hearing about the ‘truck driver shortage’ and reading articles about how hard it is for companies to hire and keep qualified drivers. So why is it that you’ve applied for numerous trucking jobs and no one seems interested in hiring you?
There are a number of reasons you are having problems. The one I feel is the biggest one, in both trying to find a job and staying with a job, are the expectations you set are too high. Keep those at a reasonable level and you won’t be applying to positions that you aren’t qualified for. As far a truck driving, don’t look for that “perfect” job. The one that gets you home every night or weekend. The one that will pay you $65,000 per year, especially if you’re new to the industry. Take whatever job you can get and work your way up. The odds are you will not find the job that gives you everything you want.
